Over-the-Air Testing

• Our wireless testing Center of Excellence provide device manufacturers with Over-the-Air testing to help confirm if a handset meets or exceeds device manufacturer and industry requirements
• Intertek is a CTIA Authorized Test Lab (CATL) for OTA Testing as well as TDMA, cdma2000, cdmaOne, and AMPS
• To determine antenna and receiver performance, we use state-of-the-art equipment such as C2K racks and a fully anechoic chamber to determine TRP, TIS and aGPS measurements

Over-the-Air Testing (OTA):

Intertek has the accreditation, equipment, and experience of testing to OTA requirements. When you need your products tested for CTIA certification, or to satisfy wireless supplier requirements for North America, Intertek has the testing solutions that meet your needs.

Since antenna and receiver performance is crucial to the effective operation of cellular handsets, many wireless service providers (such as Verizon Wireless and others) require their suppliers verify that handsets can perform optimally under various conditions. We use state-of-the-art equipment such as two Spirent C2K test systems for cdma2000 1xRTT, GPS and other requirements as well as a fully anechoic chamber to support equipment used for OTA TRP, TIS and aGPS testing.

We offer extensive Over-the-Air testing including:

• TRP testing: TRP testing measures the 3-D antenna pattern of cellular handsets and calculates the total radiated power of the device. We offer TRP testing for cdma2000 cellular and PCS bands, cdmaOne cellular and PCS bands, GSM 850 MHz, 1900 MHz, 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands, AMPS, TDMA cellular and PCS bands.
• TIS Testing: TIS testing measures the 3-D sensitivity pattern of the handset’s receiver and integrates the pattern to provide a figure of merit for the device. We offer TIS testing in cdma2000 cellular and PCS bands, cdmaOne cellular and PCS bands and GSM 850 MHz, 1900 MHz, 900 MHz and 1800 MHz bands.
• aGPS Receiver Sensitivity: aGPS receiver sensitivity testing measures the 3-D sensitivity pattern of the handset’s aGPS receiver in a phantom hand and integrates the pattern to provide a figure of merit for the device. We offer aGPS receiver sensitivity testing in cdma2000 cellular and PCS bands.
