Steps to Acquire the GS Mark

1. Request certification through application form (ITS-0001) from the local testing lab
2. Certification body decides on testing parameters: i.e., which test laboratory, standards to test to, any additional requirements, and test sample for verification
3. Testing performed
4. Certification body checks: documentation approved; documentation complete; are standards within the scope of the reviewer?
5. Certification body registers the project, passes on copy of documentation and test sample to a named reviewer of Intertek for a review
6. GS Review: named reviewer checks the plausibility and correctness of the file and creates a review sheet
7. Certification body verifies the review sheet
8. Certification body issues the certificate; documentation including the review sheet and corrective action are archived
9. Certification body sends the certificate by email or fax to the local testing lab
10. Recurring factory inspection
